It is with a mixture of heavy hearts and immense gratitude that we, the family behind the Funny Stop Comedy Club, announce our retirement and the closing of our doors. This club was the realization of a lifelong dream for Pete, and it became a home for laughter because of all of you.
Pete was a comedy show all by himself. He was known for his "aggressive comedy" - satirically playing the grouch and turning everyday frustration into shared laughter. Many of you will never forget him jokingly yelling at people or shouting "Keep it clean!" while ironically dropping a few "f-bombs" of his own. Pete built deep friendships with patrons and comedians alike, creating a unique atmosphere that defined our club.
Always by Pete’s side was Nidal, his true right-hand lady and the essential support that kept the show running. Following Pete’s passing, Nidal showed incredible dedication by keeping the club’s spirit alive for nearly three additional years. After long discussions, our family has decided it is finally time to retire and begin this new chapter.
Funny Stop was truly a family business, and we are grateful for the time we spent together within these walls. Chef Tony, Pete’s brother, the "true owner," loved coming in to make food, always with a warm smile on his face. Pete’s two sons were also fixtures at the club, with Youssef lately found behind the bar serving drinks and welcoming guests.
We are so proud of the talent that graced our stage. Whether it was the brave souls at our Wednesday 8:00 PM Amateur Open Mic Nights or those in our Thursday Favorites Features, you were the heartbeat of our week.
We were also honored to host world-class headliners who made all of Northeast Ohio laugh from our hometown club, the Rubber City Comedy Festival, and the meaningful charities that used our club along the way. From those packed Friday and Saturday sets, to the community we built through our weekly newsletter, every moment was special.
Final reflections as we close this chapter, we want to thank you all for the years of friendship and laughter. You made Pete’s dream a reality, and we will carry these memories with us forever.

Don is best known as co-host of VH1 Classic’s hit heavy metal talk show series, ‘That Metal Show,’ where legends of rock hang out to discuss their past and current projects in front of a live studio audience. Rolling Stone Magazine dubbed the program one of the 50 Best Reasons To Watch TV! He also co-hosted ‘Beer Money,’ a fast-paced, non-traditional sports quiz show airing on SNY (SportsNet NY). He is currently co-hosting a new rock web-series with former Fox News correspondent and fellow rock fan, Juliet Huddy, on BlondeandCrossbones.com.
Amongst his many accomplishments, Jamieson’s 2 stand-up CD’s, ‘Live & Hilarious’ and ‘Hell Bent For Laughter’ on Metal Blade Records, hit the Top 20 on iTunes and Top 10 on the Billboard comedy charts, and his third for the label, ‘Communication Breakdown’ drops April 21st. Jamieson’s proudest moment is becoming an Emmy Award-Winner for his work on HBO’s ‘Inside The NFL’. Don and long-time comedy partner, Jim Florentine, lent their brand of humor to the popular sports show, writing, producing, and performing sports-themed comedy sketches.
The two have also collaborated on the hidden-camera DVD and Comedy Central web series, ‘Meet The Creeps’, as well as a series of prank call CDs, ‘Terrorizing Telemarketers’, heard regularly on the Howard Stern radio show. He is also a joke writer for the country’s best celebrity roaster, Lisa Lampanelli and spent many years as Andrew Dice Clay’s steady opener.
Don’s stand-up act brings his everyday take on life with an added dash of sarcasm for good measure. He’s able to make people laugh at things they wouldn’t normally laugh at and then laugh again at that realization. Besides performing in clubs and theaters all over the country, he also performs stand-up at rock festivals such as Rock On The Range, Monsters Of Rock Cruise and Metallica’s Orion Music + More Festival, where he was introduced by drummer Lars Ulrich.
Don started his career as one of the young and talented comedy minds at MTV, helping to launch the careers of comics like Jon Stewart, Kevin James, and Jay Mohr, but unbeknownst to many, Don was spending his nights on the local comedy scene developing his own comic style.

"The middle child of a German-Irish Catholic family, Mike grew up realizing life is an adventure. In his words, "Sometimes it's written by Mark Twain, and sometimes by Stephen King".
When asked where he gets the inspiration for his comedy, Mike simply replies, "Look around, people - aren't you paying attention?"
With material that ranges from teenage life in the mid-'70s to middle age in the new millennium, everyone in the audience should find SOMETHING that strikes a familiar chord - as well as their funny bone!

Jeff co-starred in the short film “Facebook Faux Pas,” which premiered at the Cleveland International Film Festival. Jeff is also a cast member on the YouTube sensation web-series “Man in the Box,” which has over 60,000 subscribers, nearly 200 episodes, and was aired on Cinemax OnDemand.
Jeff has appeared on television as a featured comic on “Saturday Night at The Funny Farm” on CBS, as Jimmy Barton in “The Babe Ruth Story” on ABC, as a regular on “Fox Unplugged” on Fox, as the host of the PBS specials “90 Degrees South” and “The Science of Cooking” and “The Quiz Bus” and was the executive producer for and performed on "The Something Dada Show" which aired on the UPN Network and WUAB locally.

About Katrina Brown:
Dubbed "The Weird One" by her stepfather, Katrina has spent her life living up to that nickname. With her metal head and potpourri of physical oddities, there is no shortage of material for her to draw from. As the youngest of seven children, Katrina found that cultivating an obnoxious and loud personality was a way to not get lost in the shuffle.
Add in a marriage to a Sasquatch, mother of two boys, and this woman has found a lot to say. She'll say the things you wish you were bold enough to. She has no filter when it comes to keeping her material real, relatable, and honest. Mixing material everyone can relate to with her own bizarre reality of being a "Mutant" misfit of society, Katrina's experiences as a wife, mother, aging woman, Pop Culture Addict, and 'proof nature likes practical jokes' keep audiences of every adult age and demographic in stitches.
Blue enough to merit a PG-17 rating, and clean enough not horrify people, Katrina leaves an audience better for the experience of having seen the Mutant Queen of Ohio Comedy.

Bill Boronkay
Once one of the country's fastest rising sportscasters, Bill Boronkay enjoyed stops in Clarksburg, WV, Evansville, IN, and Kansas City before finally landing in sunny Cleveland, OH, where he was assigned various hazardous duties. Along the way, Boronkay won 5 Emmys, one of which is proudly displayed in his mother's home office behind a lamp.
After a failed audition with ESPN (a mirror was involved), Bill reevaluated his career and took off in lukewarm pursuit of his true 14th dream and stand-up.
Bill's been seen on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, SportsTime Ohio, Time Warner Cable, heard on ESPN Radio, Bob & Tom, and various radio stations across the country.
In 2015, Bill moved to New York, where he can often be found on the right train going the wrong direction.
Not as serious as Plato, but lighter than Socrates. Livelier than Nixon, but not as edgy as Clinton. Not as heavy as GWAR, but deeper than Culture Club.
Nathan Timmel is a stand-up comedy veteran, masterful storyteller, and headliner with years of experience behind the mic. Nathan finds the absurdity in everything from making babies to overcrowded prisons, creating comedy that’s intelligent, fun, and engaging (with a sprinkling of raucousness).
Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Nathan started his comedy career in the Big Cheese State. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in English, Nathan realized he was unemployable. One open mic later, and a career in the business of laughter began.
Nathan has recorded six albums (and receives regular airplay on Sirius/XM radio), been a guest on the Bob & Tom Show, and traveled overseas to perform for American troops—including stops in Iraq and Afghanistan. He performs at comedy clubs around the country, from Buffalo to Albuquerque and Colorado Springs to Baltimore.

Carl Strong has shared the stage with such entertainment luminaries as Gladys Knight, Chaka Kahn, Dionne Warwick, Guess Who, and Smokey Robinson. His universal appeal is reflected by the varied venues in which he has performed. From “An Evening at the Improv,” and the BET Network to “Politically Incorrect,” “Comedy Central,” “Full Frontal Comedy,” and MTV’s “Half Hour Comedy Hour,” Carl Strong has the ability to entertain…anyone!
Carl grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Master’s degree in Psychology. Carl then went on to pursue his dreams as a stand-up comedian for 30 years, residing in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, for 27 years.
In 2010, Carl was diagnosed with CHF (Congestive Heart Failure). Initially, he underwent an ablation, cardioversion, placement of a pacemaker, and an internal defibrillator.
All of which only helped for a short time. With his heart functioning only at 15%, Carl amazed his doctors by carrying on with his work, traveling across the country doing what he loves most, making people laugh with his unique brand of comedy.
With heart functioning continuing to deteriorate and the days on the waiting list for a heart transplant increasing, a benefit was held for Carl amidst a wave of prayers and support. On May 8, 2013, Carl underwent a second major surgery, having his much-awaited transplant.
After surgery, Carl feels he has been given the greatest blessing imaginable and is deeply motivated to be reconnected with the national stage and share his comedic message of hope and inspiration.
Long Island born and raised, Terry McNeely could easily earn the title of "Crass Critic to the Suburban World." Mocking husbands and children's names, it's certainly no surprise that the acid humor of Terry McNeely has him rising up the ranks of comedy by leaps and bounds.
When voters were asked, "What do you like about Donald Trump?", the #1 answer was "He tells it like it is." If you like that answer, it is likely that you'll love Terry McNeely's brand of comedy.

At age 16, Greg Morton got his first job at a local department store as a P.A. announcer. That same voice that grabbed the attention of shoppers recently wowed judges on the season 14 premiere of America’s Got Talent. Howie Mandel said, “I can’t believe there isn’t a banner with your name on it in Vegas,” and called him a one-man variety show!
After 35 years of entertaining audiences worldwide, opening for Celine Dion, Harry Connick Jr., and Luther Vandross at Radio City Music Hall – appearing on Just for Laughs, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, Comics Unleashed, and his own Dry Bar Comedy Special- he’s here to perform for you tonight.
