WHO IS COMEDIAN DAN BROWN? AND WHAT IS STRAIGHT-EDGE COMEDY? Dan Brown is a unique voice in the world of comedy, known for his unconventional approach that combines humor with insightful commentary. With roots in the Straight-Edge movement, which traditionally emphasized a lifestyle free from alcohol and drugs, Dan has taken this concept and transformed it into a comedic style that is not only clean but also razor-sharp. His comedy challenges societal norms while remaining relatable and accessible. In this article, we will explore his biography, career highlights, and the essence of his comedy style, providing context for why Dan Brown is a must-see act.

Being Straight-Edge had the reputation of being aggressive in the 1980s, often associated with punk culture and a rejection of mainstream values. But when performed by Dan Brown, it's clean comedy that still has an edge and is aggressively funny. Dan combines his real-life observations and experiences into a performance that is honest and insightful, allowing audiences to relate to and laugh at his stories. For instance, he shares anecdotes about his childhood, drawing parallels between the struggles of growing up and the superhero fantasies he had. Dan talks about life from a wannabe superhero's point of view, addressing themes like responsibility, family dynamics, and the complexities of relationships while maintaining honesty and truth. This approach creates a connection with his audience, making them feel as if they are part of his journey. Dan is a favorite at comedy clubs and colleges all over the country, where his relatability and humor shine. His Dry Bar Comedy Special “Not Shopping Here Today” was released in October 2021, marking a significant milestone in his career by showcasing his comedic style to a broader audience. The special is filled with clever observations about everyday scenarios, making it a hit among viewers who appreciate humor that resonates with real-life experiences.

For more information on Dan Brown and to catch his latest updates, visit his official website at danbrowncomedy.com Here you can find details about his upcoming shows, learn more about his comedic journey, and watch clips that highlight his talent. Dan's engaging presence and ability to mix humor with poignant observations make him a standout performer in the comedy scene, and he continues to garner attention for his fresh take on life through a comedic lens.

Funny Stop Comedy Club Welcomes Comedian Hunter Roberts!

Hunter Roberts is a stand-up gentleman, most recently known as "this guy named Hunter" who was involved in the Twitter breakup/love triangle with Long John Silver's and Wendy's. He's from a wonderfully magical town full of cows and butter. Determined to break through the glass ceiling, hell-bent on shaping him into a ranch hand (much like Jake Gyllenhaal's character in the gay cowboy movie), Hunter has become an up-and-coming (it's getting closer) comedian in the Bible Belt known for his highly energetic rants centered around his upbringing in the 90s.

Hunter enjoys teaching dogs pointless children's games, holding unlit cigarettes, and contributing to GonzoGeek.com. He was recently a finalist in the 2013 Rocky Top Comedy Contest and a participant in the Scruffy City Comedy Festival. He's also shared the stage with late-night talk show mainstays like Shane Mauss, Dave Stone, and Nate Bargatze and been an official after-party act for Mumford & Sons' 2012 Gentleman of the Road Stopover Tour in Bristol, TN.

Funny Stop Comedy Club welcomes back Bill Stone!

Comic Bill Stone is a hilariously funny stand-up comedian and entertainer. He is also a celebrated graphic designer and co-founder of BS Pro Design, creating digital designs and promotions for artists & venues from coast to coast. His laugh-out-loud comedy is something to be seen! He is a rapidly growing comedic phenom from Akron, Ohio, following in the path of great talent such as Lebron James and Devo.  After only starting comedy at the ripe young age of 39, he quickly became a staple at The Funny Stop Comedy Club in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, where he performs as a regular emcee as well as an occasional feature.  He now travels across the United States, featuring at clubs and venues nationwide.

His comedy style is an upbeat take on self-deprecation, situational comedy with a splash of topical humor. He can take you anywhere from PG-13 to a strong R rating, depending on the club or the crowd.  Bill is also one of the founding members of the Rubber City Comedy Festival in Akron, Ohio, and also works closely with the Cleveland Comedy Festival.  He has recently begun breaking into acting, and his first role was in the independent film “Science Boys High School Reunion,” which won multiple festival awards for comedy. He then landed his first background role in the Academy Award-winning “Judas and the Black Messiah”.  He definitely had a standout performance as an extra reading a menu. Be sure to check out his Bill Stone IMDB credits.

When not doing stand-up comedy, he is hard at work with his design company, BS Pro Design, creating promotional work for clubs and comedians, like Jim Florentine, Marc “Skippy” Price, Basile the Comedian, and many more.

Bob Jay returns to Funny Stop!

Not sure if you remember Bob? Check out this gem from the early days of YouTube… recorded at the Funny Stop back in 2012.

Bob Jay is a stand-up comedian and voice-over artist who has made a name for himself imitating others: cartoon characters, movie stars, famous musicians, and sports figures. Jay is a seasoned veteran of the comedy circuit, touring live as "The Man With Voices in His Head", as well as spending time on the small screen on Comedy Central.

It was ultimately a dare that produced Jay's eventual career path. Goaded by his friends, he took to the stage on the day of his high school graduation, and the rest was history. Gigs as a DJ and stand-up gradually transitioned into impression-heavy sets where Jay employed his talents for mimicry to great effect… eventually becoming the "Man of 999 Voices".

Over the years, Bob has entertained audiences across the country with lightning-fast impressions, spot-on vocal accuracy, and a knack for weaving those voices into hilarious, unexpected scenarios. One moment, you might hear Arnold Schwarzenegger giving dating advice, the next it’s Kermit the Frog singing a classic rock ballad. His act is unpredictable, quick-paced, and guaranteed to keep you guessing (and laughing) from start to finish.

Why you can’t miss this show:

Bob’s talent for switching between characters mid-sentence is unlike anything you’ve seen before.

It’s not just impressions — it’s full-on comedic storytelling wrapped in celebrity voices.

Every show is different, with plenty of crowd interaction and improv.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or you’ve never experienced the comedic whirlwind of Bob Jay live, this is your chance to see why he’s been a fan favorite at the Funny Stop for years.

Show Dates: August 16th and 17th, 2025
